ACT and ALS Training – Wales’ leading work-based learning provider, has raised an incredible £4864 for Bowel Cancer UK via a charity golf tournament.
The event, which took place on May 2 at Llanishen Golf Club, brought staff and partners for a day of sport, community, and fundraising.
18 teams played on the day, including ACT and ALS Training partners Thomas Carroll Group, Alyn Mortgages, Hensol Golf, Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Council, Gallaghers, New Directions, and Brown & Brown.
As the golfing wound down, the evening continued with food, heartfelt speeches, and a charity raffle, all to raise vital funds and awareness for Bowel Cancer UK.
Business Development Manager at ACT and ALS Training, Sean Driscoll said: “This event was more than just a great day of golf – it was about coming together as a community to support a cause that touches so many lives.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our partners for backing this event and helping us raise almost £5000 for such an important charity. It was great welcoming everyone to the golf club for a memorable day.
“Funds raised from the tournament and raffle have gone directly to Bowel Cancer UK, supporting their mission to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.”
Michael Locke from Bowel Cancer UK said: “We’re very grateful to our friends at ACT Training for choosing to support us and our life saving work at this event.
It was a brilliant day that gave so many people affected by bowel cancer a chance to rally together, enjoy some golf and raise funds towards our mission of a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.”
