Leading insurance broker Aston Lark, a Howden company, is setting out its support for the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity.

The national firm, which has a new base in south Wales, has kickstarted its support of the charity with a £1000 donation.

The Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity, established by the rugby legend of the same name, provides support for young people aged 15-35 who live in Wales, are receiving treatment for cancer and are struggling financially.

The £1,000 donation was secured thanks to Ecclesiastical Insurance Group who awarded the donation on Aston Lark’s behalf at a recent pop-up event in Cardiff. Ecclesiastical is part of the Benefact Group, a charity owned, international family of financial services companies that donate available profits to good causes.

Deborah Barber, Development Executive, Aston Lark, said: “Between the ages of 15 and 35 are when many are thinking about starting a career and a family, but few are thinking about the financial impact of a devastating illness such as cancer.

“For those that don’t have adequate insurance policies in place if they become ill with an illness like cancer, the support of the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity is absolutely invaluable.”

Gary Stevens, Regional Director for South Wales, said: “We’re very grateful to Ecclesiastical and the Benefact Group for helping up kickstart our support for the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity.

“We’re looking forward to continuing our support for the charity with many more donations as we expand our team and fundraising efforts here in south Wales.”

Aston Lark, part of Howden Group since April 2022, has more than 75 offices in the UK and Ireland, with 2,000 employees serving 200,000 customers.
