Contra Vision have chosen The Wellspring, a Stockport-based charity helping those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as their Charity of the Year for 2023.
The decision to support this remarkable charity was taken due to the team feeling that they wanted to support those in the local community that needed help meeting their basic needs.
The team at Contra Vision recently had a visit to the Bramhall office from Paul Cornwall, a Project Manager from the Wellspring, to talk to the team about the service that the charity provides as well as what the Contra Vision team can do to help. The team learnt that supporting those experiencing homelessness is only touching the surface of what the Wellspring does for the community.
They work across the borough to give support with physical and mental health problems, substance abuse misuse and addiction, abuse and social exclusion, domestic violence, emotional coercion, unemployment, debt, illiteracy and much more.
As there is no such thing as a “typical” service user within the Wellspring, those who work at the service must tailor their support towards the individual’s needs. As well as supporting those affected by homelessness, their mission is also to work towards giving users the confidence to develop the skills and capabilities needed to gain long term independence.
Over the next year, Contra Vision employees will take part in fundraising activities to raise money for the service as well as collecting food, clothing, and other essentials at the Bramhall office to donate to the Wellspring.
The charity also put on their own fundraising initiatives which the team will be taking part in throughout the year.
